Pakistan mobile phone imports declines in first half of FY2024-25
Pakistan’s mobile phone imports have dropped by 7.46% in the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25 compared to the same period last year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country imported mobile phones valued at $733.425 million from July to December 2024, down from $792.581 million during the same months in 2023-24.
In December 2024, mobile phone imports in Pakistan fell by 7.27% compared to the same month last year.
Imports totaled $163.257 million, while exports for December 2023 were recorded at $176.063 million.
Pakistan saw a significant increase in mobile phone imports during the fiscal year 2023-24. The value of mobile phone imports reached $1.898 billion, which represents a 233% growth compared to the previous fiscal year 2022-23, when the imports were valued at $570.071 million.
During the first nine months of the fiscal year 2023-24 (July-March), the country imported mobile phones worth $1.301 billion, marking a significant growth of 181.26% compared to $462.700 million during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
