Karan Johar announces Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Bollywood debut
Indian filmmaker Karan Johar has announced to launch of Indian actor Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan to Bollywood.
Johar took to his Instagram today and expressed his excitement and fondly reflected on his long-standing relationship with Ibrahim’s parents.
“With Saif, it was in Anand Mahendru’s office where I first met him. Young, suave, charming & effortless…VERY much like the first time I met Ibrahim. And a strong friendship that continues from our generation to luckily our kids!!!” he said.
He shared that he has known the family since 40 years and worked with them in different movies with diverse genres, stating “Duniya and the wonderful 2 States with Amrita, Kal Ho Naa Ho to Kurbaan with Saif and of course, Simmba with Sara followed by many more (to come!!) I know this family for the heart they have.”
“Films are in their blood, their genes and their passion. We make way for a new wave of talent, one that I cannot wait for the world to see.”
Ibrahim’s sister, actress Sara Ali Khan, also celebrated her brother’s debut by reposting Karan’s announcement on her Instagram stories.
Johar teased the introduction of new talent by sharing a reel on social media about debutant directors and actors, hinting at a wave of fresh stories to be told by his production house, Dharma Productions.
According to Indian news outlet Indian express, Ibrahim will make his Bollywood debut in Dharma Productions’ Sarzameen. The film is expected to feature Kajol in an important role and will be directed by Kayoze Irani, the son of actor Boman Irani.
