Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts more cold weather across country
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted cold weather to blanket most parts of the country on Tuesday (today), with particularly frigid conditions in hilly areas.
The upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are forecasted to experience cloudy weather accompanied by light rain and snowfall, along with gusty winds in the evening and nighttime.
The PMD has forecasted cold and cloudy weather with isolated rain and snowfall in GB, upper areas in KP, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Murree, and Galiyat for Wednesday (tomorrow).
Cold and dry weather will persist in most areas while the Pothohar region is likely to see partly cloudy skies on Thursday, January 30.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across the majority of the country, with very cold conditions reported in hilly regions.
The lowest recorded temperatures today were as follows:
- Leh: -12°C
- Gupis, Skardu: -10°C
- Astore: -9°C
- Hunza, Gilgit, Bagrote, Kalam: -5°C
- Quetta: -4°C
