PTI boycotts talks, demands judicial commission before resuming negotiations

Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq contacted PTI negotiation committee

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has boycotted a scheduled meeting with the government, insisting on the formation of a judicial commission before further negotiations can take place.

PTI sources confirmed the party’s decision to skip the meeting, stating that opposition members will not participate until their demand for a judicial commission is met. The decision was made at the behest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Sources clarified that the PTI will not resume negotiations until a judicial commission is established. The party continues to demand the release of imprisoned party leaders and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024.

Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq contacted PTI negotiation committee head Omar Ayub and PTI leader Asad Qaiser. The Speaker urged the PTI to attend the meeting, emphasizing that dialogue is the only way to resolve issues.

Omar Ayub informed the Speaker of the PTI Chairman’s decision, citing the government’s delaying tactics on their demands. He reiterated that negotiations cannot proceed without the establishment of a judicial commission.
