Prominent ‘commanders’ of the banned Baloch Liberation Army announced their surrender to the country on Friday and claimed that a ‘neighbouring country’ exploited them in terrorist activities.

“I thought of joining the organisation [banned BLA] in 2005 as I used to discuss Balochistan’s condition with Dilkhash and Diljaan [the terrorist organisation’s commanders],” Najibullah said at a press conference in Quetta. Provincial ministers and the DIG of Balochistan were also present.

Najibullah alias Darwish and Adam surrendered alongside his partner Abdul Rashid, also known as Khudaidad and Kamash.

“I joined the [outlawed] Baloch Republican Party after they [Dilkhash and Diljaan] both were killed. I was part of the main units when I joined and later became a member of the committee.”

In the recent past, several members of the banned terrorist organisations have surrendered to the country. Many of them have blamed India and its intelligence agency for terrorism.

“After 19 years of seeing BLA’s reality. I am surrendering to Pakistan and leaving the organisation,” Najibullah said, “I was illiterate and I was brainwashed to plot against Pakistan by the organisation.”

Without mentioning the name, he said that he was in a “neighbouring country” where he was ordered to form a group called BLA by that country’s intelligence. “I refused and was subsequently arrested. After my release, further investigation uncovered that BRASS and BLA were involved in this matter.”

Najibullah claimed that two of his partners Masoos Pi Meerak and Jalil were still missing.

He claimed that the banned terrorist organisations leaders Dr Allah Nazar Baloch and Bashir Zaib conspired against the chairman of Sangatosana Besozad who was also his friend of Najeebullah, forcing him to resign from the organisation. “As a result, two groups were formed: one led by Najeebullah, and another by Gulzar Rehman.” Later, he said that they moved towards Kalat for training. “The Baloch Republican Army eventually collapsed, leading to significant turmoil and destruction in Pakistan as a result.”

Najibullah also confirmed that the banned BRA played a significant role in establishing the Besozad organization in Makhran.

“During my time in the organization, I engaged with representatives from the neighboring country. They didn’t care about my freedom but offered their support in my actions. Later, I realised that our country was being manipulated by the neighbouring nation.”

The banned BLA commander said that he investigated many “Baloch liberation leaders” living in foreign countries, highlighting about “luxuries they enjoy abroad while using young recruits.”

He said: “Doctor Anzar’s son is in Malaysia, Akhtar Nadeem’s son in France, Doctor Deen Muhammed’s son and brother in Oman were enjoying their lives abroad.”

Najibullah claimed that Hyrbyair Marri and Mehran Marri were in conflict over issues of corruption, often resulting in ordinary Baloch people being killed.

“Marri and Dr Allah Nazar, along with Aslam, were in conflict, which led to the kidnapping of Mahmoud Aam Dil Marri [80 years old], who is still missing.”

Another surrendered terrorist commander, Abdul Rashid, shared his story. “In 2009, BLF commander Abid Imran influenced me. His words changed my mind, and I joined the group. I am happy to have returned now,” he said.
