PTI gives 7-day ultimatum to govt regardign talks

Zafar criticized NAB's initial allegation that the property was sold for £190 million

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Ali Zafar has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government regarding ongoing talks to break political deadlock.

He stated that the PTI has submitted written demands and if the government fails to provide a written response within seven days, further meetings will be cancelled.

Zafar highlighted the confusion created by the 26th Amendment to the Constitution and linked the Al-Qadir Trust case to the purchase of a property in London by Hassan Nawaz, son of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during his father’s tenure.

He questioned why the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) didn’t investigate the source of funds used for the property’s purchase and subsequent resale.

Zafar criticized NAB’s initial allegation that the property was sold for £190 million, stating that subsequent investigations revealed a lack of evidence to support claims of stolen funds. He advised the current government to learn from past mistakes, emphasizing that undermining the constitution also harms parliament.

He reiterated that the background of the Al-Qadir Trust case is directly tied to Hassan Nawaz’s London property.
