Power consumers to get back Rs1.03 from DISCOs

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed a request with NEPRA to refund consumers 1 rupee and 3 paisas per unit as part of the fuel price adjustment for December.

CPPA reports that a total of 7.516 billion units of electricity were supplied to DISCOs during the month.

The fuel cost per unit for electricity in December stood at Rs9 and 60 paisas, while the estimated cost was Rs10 and 63 paisas per unit.

A hearing regarding the refund request is scheduled for January 30.

In its report, CPPA indicated that in December, electricity generation sources included 22.80% from water and 10.06% from local coal.
