Army chief is Pakistan’s ‘Ronaldo’, does not matter who is in govt: Vawda
Faisal Vawda said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has begun negotiating with the same government that it called legitimate and has even met the army chief whose appointment he opposed.
Speaking to Shaukat Piracha in Rubaroo on Aaj News, he said that if PTI is talking to COAS General Asim Munir, it means they have accepted his authority and walked back on their claims of the army ‘false flags’ operation.
He added the Army has no need to talk to PTI, and the latter is the one trying to talk. He also added that proper talks will begin between PTI and opposition after January 22.
Vawda said that the army chief was the ‘Ronaldo’ of the Pakistani state and just like no one remembers the names of Ronaldo’s teammates, it does not matter what government or characters are around him. He said that the army and the state is the guarantor of Pakistan’s economy and stability.
He added that Fawad Chaudhry has made a positive suggestion by telling Imran Khan not to make tweets against the army. However, he added that Chaudhry would still not be let into the party as he wished.
Vawda added that there is a trump card which might fall out of the PTI’s pocket and enter PM Shehbaz Sharif’s pocket soon.
Major scandal to be unearthed on January 22
Vawda also said that a mjor scandal has been diagnosed and prempted and will come to light on January 22.
Although, he refused to reveal details, he said that the scandal could be related to procurement.
Vawda also said that the scandal had been preempted because General Munir has set a tough example by trying a man from his own institution, General Faiz.
