American actress Jessica Alba has hired a divorce attorney in her separation from her husband, Cash Warren, according to People.

Following the announcement of Alba and Warren’s separation, the news outlet reported that they remain “friends and focused on the kids.”

In recent weeks, both have been seen out and about without their wedding rings, although they presented a united front to celebrate their son Hayes’ seventh birthday earlier in January.

“16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever to go,” the actress said in an Instagram post in May 2024.

“I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family.”

She added: “Through thick and thin, we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you.”

Alba and Warren initially met in Vancouver in 2004 while filming Fantastic Four, where Alba portrayed Sue Storm and Warren served as a director’s assistant.

Alba, 43, and Warren, 45, got married in May 2008 and have three children together: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.
