United Arab Emirates Princess Sheikha Mahra, who is the daughter of UAE Vice President and Deputy PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Zoe Grigorakos, has announced her divorce from her husband on Instagram.

“Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce,” she said in a social media post on Tuesday. “I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”

She has also removed all the pictures shared with her husband from social media and the two have unfollowed each other on social media platforms.

The sudden divorce announcement by Princess Sheikha Mahra has left her fans and social media users in a state of shock, as just a few weeks ago, she posted a message where she was seen spending precious moments with her daughter.

Some users claim that the Emirati princess’s Instagram account may have been hacked while others say that the right to divorce rests solely with the husband, and the wife can only seek “khula” (divorce initiated by the wife).

Princess Sheikha Mahra married to Sheikh Mana Al Maktoum on April 5, 2023. They later welcomed their first daughter in May of this year.
