PCB announces relocation of Tri-Nation ODI series to Karachi and Lahore
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the relocation of the upcoming tri-nation ODI series, originally set to take place in Multan, to the newly upgraded Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Both venues are nearing the completion of significant renovations in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with the PCB confirming that all preparations are progressing smoothly. The Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium are on track to host crucial tournament matches, ensuring that world-class standards are met.
The historic Gaddafi Stadium is undergoing a major overhaul, which includes an increase in spectator capacity to 35,000. Newly installed seating arrangements aim to enhance comfort for attendees. To improve broadcast quality, 480 state-of-the-art LED lights have been added, elevating broadcast LUX levels for superior viewing worldwide. Additionally, two massive digital replay screens, measuring 80 feet x 30 feet and 22 feet x 35 feet, are expected to be installed next week to enhance the in-match viewing experience for fans.
A new hospitality enclosure for players and officials is set to be completed by January 25, coinciding with the PCB’s plans to inaugurate the revamped stadium in the last week of January.
In Karachi, the National Bank Stadium has also seen significant upgrades, including the addition of 350 new LED lights for enhanced broadcast coverage and 5,000 new seating options to improve spectator comfort. A new hospitality enclosure for players and officials has been created at the University End, further elevating the experience for all involved.
