The security situation in Kurram District continues to be precarious as the Tal-Parachinar road, remains closed for the 85th consecutive day, hindering all forms of traffic.

This closure has also led to a suspension of supplies to Upper Kurram, intensifying concerns among residents.

In a bid to restore peace, a grand jirga is scheduled today at the Commissioner House in Kohat.

Sources indicated that leaders from one party have been present in Kohat for several days, preparing to sign an agreement. Meanwhile, representatives from the other party, who have requested an additional two days for deliberations, are expected to arrive today.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Barrister Saif, has noted that a general consensus has been reached between the parties involved.

The ongoing road closures have resulted in severe shortages of food items, causing distress among the local population. Protests continued outside the Kurram Press Club, now in their twelfth day. According to the Civil Society organization, the lack of medical facilities has led to the tragic deaths of 200 individuals, including 128 children.

Communication has been disrupted due to a mobile network blackout, complicating the situation further.

Public transport, hotels, restaurants, business centers, and ATMs are closed, leaving thousands of overseas residents stranded with expired visas and tickets.
