A stalemate continues in Kurram Agency, where a grand jirga (tribal council) has failed to reach a resolution, leaving the situation unresolved. Meanwhile, the ongoing impasse has sparked widespread protests across Karachi, with demonstrations blocking major thoroughfares and causing significant traffic disruptions.

Twelve separate protest sites are currently causing gridlock across the city, severely impacting commuters. Residents are facing extreme difficulties getting to work and returning home. The protests have resulted in the closure of numerous key roads, creating extensive traffic jams.

The sit-ins on National Highway and Malir 15 resumed later in the day, officials and witnesses said. The protest ended early in the day and both roads were opened for traffic.

Major affected areas and traffic diversions include:

• M.A. Jinnah Road (Near Numaish Chowrangi): Both tracks are closed. Traffic is being diverted via Peoples Chowrangi, Guru Mandir towards Soldier Bazaar. Diversions are also in place from Society Signal to Corridor Three, and from Britto Road towards Soldier Bazaar and Guru Mandir.

• Abu Hassan Isfahani Road (Near Abbas Town): Both roads are closed. Traffic is being diverted from Paradise Bakery towards Faria Chowk.

• North Nazimabad (Five Star Chowrangi): The service road remains open.

• Shahrah-e-Faisal (Kala Chhappar, Malir Road): Traffic is being diverted via Karsaz, Drigh Road, Millennium, Johar Chowrangi towards Pehlwan Goth and the airport. Those traveling from Malir, Korangi Industrial Area, Clifton, and Defence towards the airport can use Shah Faisal Colony Road from Singer Chowrangi. The route from Sham Shopping Center, Shah Faisal Colony Bridge to the airport is also open.

• Incholi to Sehrab Goth: This route is closed. Traffic is being diverted via Water Pump Chowrangi towards Cardio Hospital and Gulberg Chowrangi.

• Kamran Chowrangi: Closed. Alternative routes are available via Meteorology to University Road and Manwar Chowrangi.

• Nazimabad Chowrangi: Both tracks are closed. Traffic is being diverted from Lisbella towards Teen Hatti.

Traffic police are working to manage the situation and implement diversions, but commuters are urged to avoid these areas if possible and plan alternative routes. The situation is expected to continue until a resolution is reached in Kurram Agency.
