Six of family killed in road accident near Punjab’s Tandlianwala
At least members of a family were killed and three injured when a car travelling from Lahore via the motorway collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane because of foggy conditions near Punjab’s Tandlianwala on Saturday.
The incident took place close to Chak 393 GB.
The deceased were identified as Rabia Zaheer, 36, and five minors. Among the injured are Shahbaz, 40, Saba Shahbaz, 35, and Amir Hadi, 13. The high speed of the car caused it to be completely destroyed in the collision.
Rescue teams, along with the police team arrived at the scene. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured individuals to the THQ Hospital in Samundri. The tractor driver fled the scene following the accident. The police have seized the tractor-trolley and initiated further investigations.
Earlier this month, at least five people, including three women and a girl from the same family, were killed and one person was injured in a head-on collision between a car and a speeding truck on the Quetta-Karachi highway near Winder, Lasbela district.
Police officials said the accident occurred in the Adam-Khand area when a car travelling from Quetta to Karachi was struck by a truck coming from the opposite direction.
