A job offer in Canada will not help your permanent residence plans anymore
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that starting in spring 2025, candidates in the Express Entry system will no longer receive additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for valid job offers.
This significant change will impact all new and existing candidates, including those currently in Canada on temporary work permits.
Currently, valid job offers can provide candidates with an additional 50 or 200 CRS points, enhancing their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
However, IRCC has clarified that this adjustment is temporary, though no end date has been specified.
The removal of these points will affect all Express Entry candidates, regardless of their occupation or industry.

Notably, those who have already received an ITA based on their CRS score, which included points for arranged employment, or who have submitted a permanent residence application that is under processing will not be affected by this change.
