SBP announces holiday for all banks
The State Bank of Pakistan and all the banking and financial institutions will remain closed on December 25, 2024, on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on December 25, 2024 [Wednesday] being a public holiday on the occasions of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the central bank said in a statement issued on Monday.
All the banks, microfinance banks and development finance institutions will also remain closed to observe the public holiday.
Earlier in the day, the Cabinet Division released the calendar of public and optional holidays for the year 2025. The first holiday will be on February 5, followed by Pakistan Day on March 23.
