The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced that admissions for the spring semester would start from January 1.

In the past, the university conducted admissions in two phases until the autumn semester.

According to the new policy, admissions for all programmes from matriculation to PhD would be conducted in a single phase starting next year.

Programmes open for admission include matriculation, FA, ICom, associate degrees in arts, commerce, and education, BEd, BS in-person and open and distance learning programmes, postgraduate programs, MS, MPhil, PhD, diploma, and certificate courses.

Admission forms and prospectuses would be available on the university’s website www.aiou.edu.pk.

Vice Chancellor Nasir Mahmood has directed the administrators of the university’s 54 regional offices nationwide to establish student facilitation centres at their respective campuses before the commencement of admissions. Such centres would ensure that all aspiring students visiting the campuses receive the necessary support, including free access to computers and the Internet for online applications.

“The university is committed to providing fee concessions to support underprivileged children,” he said and directed regional heads to reach out to the transgender community.
