Govt reveals facilities granted to prisoners in military custody

The court subsequently disposed of the petition, satisfied with the information

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has disposed of a petition regarding the facilities provided to detainees held in military custody after the government submitted a report detailing the provisions.

The Thursday hearing, presided over by Justice Muhammad Wahid Khan, addressed a petition filed by Kainat Gul, represented by Barrister Khadija Siddiqui. The government’s counsel presented a report outlining the facilities available to the detainees.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer stated that following the court’s orders, the detainees had begun receiving all necessary facilities, including visits and now even cots.

The government’s counsel raised concerns about potential conflicts if multiple detainees were housed in the same cell. Justice Wahid Khan responded that such conflicts were unlikely and urged the authorities to provide all possible facilities.

The court subsequently disposed of the petition, satisfied with the information provided in the government’s report.
