Met Office forecasts cold and dry weather across the country
The Pakistan Metrological Department has predicted cold and dry weather in different parts of Pakistan.
Continental air is prevailing across most regions of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly wave impacting the upper areas.
On December 12, Thursday, similar weather conditions are expected, with cold and dry weather prevailing across most parts of the country. Isolated rain and snow may occur in Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir during the morning, with light rain and snow in Murree and Galliyat. Shallow fog is likely in some areas of south Punjab and upper Sindh in the morning.
From December 13 to 14, Friday and Saturday, cold wave conditions are anticipated across most parts of the country, with frost likely in the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab during morning hours. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop 5-7 degrees Celsius below normal due to the cold wave.
On December 15, Sunday, mainly cold and dry weather is expected, with very cold conditions in hilly areas. Frost may occur in the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab during the morning.
On December 16 and 17, Monday and Tuesday, mainly cold and dry weather is forecasted for most parts of the country, although partly cloudy weather is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. Frost is also expected in the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab during the morning hours.
