PSL draft 2025: Date and order of picks announced
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is gearing up for its highly anticipated 2025 draft, set to take place in the first week of January.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the draft ceremony will occur at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, starting at 5 PM, with player selections beginning at 6 PM.
This year, the PSL will feature six franchises, all of which will announce their player retentions before the draft.
The previous draft was held at the National Cricket Academy, making this year’s venue shift significant.
Exciting names are expected to be part of the draft, including international stars like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Kane Williamson.
However, a recent decision by the England Cricket Board (ECB) will prevent players under red-ball contracts, such as Jason Roy, from participating.
The draft process will allow each team to select players from various categories, including Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging players, with the first pick going to Multan Sultans.
