Internet, mobile services restored in Kurram District
Internet and mobile phone services have been restored in Kurram District following improvements in the security situation, which had been affected by violent clashes between tribal groups.
This restoration comes after a prolonged disruption in utility services in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tribal area.
However, major routes, including the Peshawar-Parachinar road, remain closed, leading to significant shortages of essential supplies such as food, medicine, and fuel.
Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud stated that the local administration is actively working to address the challenges posed by these roadblocks.
A peace jirga is currently negotiating with tribal elders for the fourth consecutive day to ensure ongoing calm in the region.
Since the onset of recent clashes on November 21, the death toll in Kurram has exceeded 130, following ambushes on police-escorted convoys that resulted in numerous fatalities.

In a related development, an All Parties Conference (APC) has expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attributing over 200 deaths in Kurram this year to ineffective governance at both federal and provincial levels.
