Rawalpindi to get new electric bus service
The Rawalpindi administration has given a nod to launch 102 electric buses in the city. The initiative will cover an area of 84 kilometres, according to the official document.
“The Punjab Mass Transit Authority shall be the executing agency. The gestation period of the scheme shall be up to November 30, 2025,” it said.
The project for the electric bus service has an estimated cost exceeding Rs7 billion. The Punjab government has released Rs4.7 billion for the initiative.
Sources said that the proposed public transport route would consist of 10 routes.
