Pipe leakage causes oil to spill on Karachi’s Seaview road

The eak was repaired within a few hours

A leak in a Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) pipeline on Seaview Road in Karachi caused furnace oil to spill onto the road and into nearby areas early this morning. However, the leak was repaired within a few hours.

According to SSP South, the leak occurred at approximately 6:00 AM.

The spilled furnace oil affected the service road and entered some nearby residential buildings. Staff from the oil refinery and DHA (Defence Housing Authority) immediately responded to the incident.

Sources at the refinery stated that oil pumping was halted as soon as the leak was reported, and the affected service road was sealed off.

PRL Managing Director Zahid Mir confirmed that a team was dispatched to repair the leak and that an investigation into the cause of the incident has been launched. The situation is now under control, and the service road has been reopened.
