GTA: Vice City ‘remaster’ in final stages
**An unofficial fan-made remaster of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, titled “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition,” is in its final stages of development. The project, spearheaded by the Revolution Team, is currently 95% complete and undergoing final testing. **
A newly released trailer showcases the mod’s progress, although the developers note that interior lighting is still under development and will be included in the final release.
Despite aiming for a release before the end of 2024, the team has encountered some unexpected bugs requiring further attention. To ensure a high-quality and functional mod, the release date may be pushed back to January 2025. The developers emphasize their commitment to delivering the best possible version of the mod.
The “Nextgen Edition” promises significant visual and gameplay enhancements to the classic open-world title. For those who can’t wait for this fan-made remaster, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition offers a commercially released, albeit previously troubled, remastered version of the game.
This compilation recently received updates addressing some of the issues that plagued its initial release on PC and consoles, bringing it closer to parity with the mobile version. The Nextgen Edition mod, however, aims for a significantly more enhanced experience.
