PTI leader Raoof Hasan reiterates party has no rush to reach Islamabad
PTI final call - did govt agree to release Imran Khan?| Spot Light | Complete episode - Aaj News

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was not in a hurry to reach Islamabad and the leadership would decide “where to go and what actions to take,” party leader Raoof Hasan said on Monday.

“The doors for communication should remain open,” he said while appearing on Aaj News’ programme Spotlight with Munizae Jahangir.

The government has locked down the capital city to halt former prime minister Imran Khan’s party marching to the city. But they managed to enter the city.

Hasan revealed that there had been some progress in talks a few days ago, but for “some reason,” the discussions hit a standstill.

When asked for details about the progress, he declined to share, saying, “If we make it public at this stage, it could damage the proceedings, which would not be appropriate.”

He further clarified that the dialogue was taking place with the establishment and did not involve any government minister or representative.

Hasan stated that the PTI wanted to resolve the deadlock, emphasizing that dialogue must happen eventually. He noted that discussions cannot proceed without showing flexibility from both sides and expressed hope that the PTI founder would also agree to move the discussions forward.

He added that the country was at a “critical juncture” and mentioned that PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan and Shibli Faraz went to meet with the Khan at the Adiala Jail to seek his permission to engage in talks.

In the programme, PML-N leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan claimed that the PTI convoy consisted of only 10,000 to 15,000 people. In response, PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen questioned, “If there are only 10,000 people, why is the entire country shut down? Let them come; let them sit in Islamabad.”
