Three terrorists killed in two separate KP operations: ISPR
Three terrorists belonging to Fitnal Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s cities on November 21-22, the military’s media wing said.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that two terrorists were killed in an intelligence based operation in the general area of Bara, Khyber district.
They were identified as Haqyar Afridi, alias Khyberay, and Gulla Jan.
In another incident, security forces picked up a movement of a group of terrorists, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, in the South Waziristan district. One terrorist was killed while three others got injured.
“Pakistan has consistently been asking the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border,” the ISPR statement said and added that the interim Afghan government was expected to fulfil its obligations and “deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij for perpetrating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.”
The statement said: “Security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its border and eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.”
Pakistan has seen an increase in militancy since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021, with the Pakistani chapter of the movement carrying out attacks mostly targeting security forces.
Last week, seven security personnel were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to attack a security forces’ post in the general area Shah-e-Mardan of the Kalat district in Balochistan.
