Schools throughout Punjab, including in Lahore, reopened following an improvement in smog conditions.

The provincial government issued a notification stating that schools will commence classes at 8:45am.

As part of the new guidelines, all students, teachers, and staff are required to wear masks, and school administrations are responsible for enforcing this directive.

Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of these measures for public health and noted that recent changes in wind patterns had contributed to the better air quality in the region.

Schools in the Rawalpindi Division had reopened the day before due to improved air quality, leading to the resumption of educational activities in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, and Chakwal.

The toxic smog levels in Lahore and other cities in Punjab have decreased, allowing the city to drop from the top position on the Air Quality Index (AQI) list of the most polluted areas in the world.
