Rakesh Roshan rejects Karan Arjun remake plans
Indian actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is thrilled as his blockbuster film Karan Arjun, featuring the legendary duo Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as brothers, is set to return to theatres.
Originally released in 1995, the film also starred Mamta Kulkarni and Kajol alongside notable actors like Rakhee, Amrish Puri, and Ranjit. It was a major commercial success, and nearly 30 years later, Roshan expressed his excitement about its re-release on November 22, 2024.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Roshan clarified that he has no plans to remake or sequel the movie. But if he were to envision a new pairing today, he would cast Hrithik Roshan as Karan and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun.
“I won’t remake Karan Arjun or make a sequel but If I were to think of an alternate jodi for the movie today, I would cast Hrithik Roshan as Karan and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun,” he said.
He elaborated on his casting choices, explaining that he envisioned Salman as a powerful, quiet boxer, while Arjun would embody a cheerful yet courageous spirit.
