This decision comes after a hearing at the Lahore High Court (LHC), where concerns about air quality and pollution were raised.
During the session, Justice Shahid Karim emphasized the need for a comprehensive 10-year policy to effectively combat the smog issue.
The Punjab Advocate General, Khalid Ishaq, represented the government and committed to environmental reforms.
He noted that significant resources from the government’s budget would be allocated towards initiatives for environmental protection and clean water.
The court also highlighted the negative impact of high-pollution sources, including emissions from buses, which contribute to deteriorating air quality in urban areas.
