Savencia Cheese USA has voluntarily recalled several types of Brie cheese sold at retailers including Aldi and Market Basket after potential listeria contamination was detected.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall after routine testing revealed the presence of listeria monocytogenes in the processing equipment at the company’s manufacturing facility.

The affected Brie cheeses, which have a “best by” date of December 24, 2024, were distributed in limited regions across multiple states, including Indiana, Missouri, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, Iowa, New Jersey, California, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, and Illinois.

Retailers are in the process of removing the products from their shelves.

Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled cheeses and to return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.

Fortunately, there have been no reported illnesses or deaths linked to the consumption of these products.
