Video of Indian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet crashing goes viral
A video of an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet plummeting to the ground in a flat spin has gone viral.
The incident occurred earlier today in a field near Agra, Uttar Pradesh, with the IAF reporting that the aircraft suffered a “system malfunction” prior to the crash. Fortunately, the pilot was able to safely eject after steering the damaged jet away from populated areas to prevent any injuries or damage on the ground.
The footage captures the MiG-29 descending rapidly in a flat spin before impacting the ground. A flat spin is a critical and uncontrolled rotational motion that poses significant risks to flight safety.
In response to the incident, the IAF has launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the crash.
This mishap follows a previous MiG-29 accident on September 2 in Barmer, Rajasthan, which was attributed to a “critical technical snag.” In that case, the pilot also ejected safely.
