The ‘final call’ for PTI’s protests for the former prime minister Imran Khan’s release would be made in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said on Saturday.

“We will gather at the Swabi Interchange on November 9, where the future course of action will be revealed,” he told reporters outside the Adiala Jail. “The final call for the protests will be made in Swabi.”

His statement confirmed Aaj News report that the PTI has cancelled its rally scheduled for November 8 in Peshawar.

Sources within the PTI said that Khan’s party was considering the establishment of a tent village in Swabi, with an announcement regarding the date expected to be made soon.

Gandapur has already warned of shutting down the country if demands are not met. The PTI has been running an anti-government campaign to “reclaim” its mandate.

“Inform your family before leaving, so that if you don’t return, they can perform your funeral. We will drive the final nail into the coffin of this government. We have endured a lot while remaining peaceful, but on November 9, we will gather in Swabi instead of holding the rally in Peshawar,” he said.

Gandapur called for “freeing” the country of the incumbent government and alleged that the Constitution had been violated and the rule of law was absent. “We have to get rid of the ‘Form 47 government.’ Now we will march with our heads wrapped in shrouds.”

He warned all “decision-makers” against blocking their movement, stating that the party’s goal is to achieve “Haqeeqi Azadi” in the country and “reclaim” their mandate.

In response to a question about his potential involvement in the release of Bushra Bibi, he said: “If I play any role in her release, I will let it be known myself. I fear no one, and everyone knows who played a role in this matter.”

Gandapur expressed concerns over the legal challenges faced by the PTI leadership, stating that while many leaders were imprisoned, he alone was facing vandalism charges across eight districts. “In one hour, eight cases of vandalism were filed against me.”

He claimed that party members were facing violence and arrests. “We are attacked, and our workers are detained. While one case may see a release, another leads to an arrest,” he said.

“A ban has been imposed on meeting with PTI founding leader Imran Khan. If such restrictions are enforced again, we have a plan in place.”

The KP chief minister stressed the need for holding those who violate the Constitution accountable. “As long as those who break the Constitution do not receive the death penalty, it will continue to be violated. If lawbreakers are not punished, the law will continue to be disregarded.”

He recounted the PTI’s determination to reach D-Chowk despite facing obstacles, claiming that the party supporters were attacked. “Our fresh troops will return, and if they plan to counter us, we will also devise our own plans.”

Gandapur alleged that his mobile phone was taken and his vehicle was damaged. “Whoever has my mobile, let them come forward, and I will forgive them. Governor’s rule and jails cannot block our path,” he said.
