UAE announces date of Ramadan 2025
The countdown to Ramadan 2025 has begun in the UAE, with the holy month of fasting anticipated to start on March 1, 2025.
The Emirates Astronomy Society announced that the crescent moon, which will signal the beginning of Jumada Al Awwal, the fifth month of the Islamic calendar, is expected to be visible on November 3, 2024.
This sighting is crucial for predicting the start of Ramadan.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, emphasized that while March 1 is the likely date for the commencement of Ramadan, the exact timing will ultimately depend on the moon sighting conducted by the official committee.
