Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh was crowned Femina Miss India 2024 on October 16 in Mumbai during an event held at the Famous Studios in Mumbai, celebrating the 60th edition of the prestigious beauty pageant.

“In a world where conformity often reigns supreme, Nikita Porwal is a beacon of individuality and determination,” Miss Femina said while describing about the winner of the beauty contest.

Her poised demeanor and radiant smile captivated the judges, securing her the coveted title, which was handed over by last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta. Neha Dhupia added a nostalgic touch by elegantly draping the Miss India sash on Nikita.

Hailing from Ujjain, a city rich in spiritual heritage, Nikita credits her upbringing for fostering her curiosity and critical thinking skills. She completed her schooling at Carmel Covent Senior Secondary School and pursued higher education at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

“From an early age, she was raised to be a thinker, encouraged by her parents to question norms rather than blindly follow them. This nurturing environment fostered a curiosity that led her to explore her spiritual roots and ignited a passion for storytelling,” Miss Femina said.

As a passionate animal advocate, Porwal aims to leverage her new title to promote kindness and empathy towards all living beings.

“Animal welfare is a cause that resonates deeply with me. It’s heartbreaking to think of innocent animals suffering from cruelty and neglect,” she told Miss Femina.

Through her platform, she intends to raise awareness about the importance of conserving, caring for, and protecting animals.

“As humans, we are not the owners of this planet but its guardians, responsible for its well-being. Our intelligence and advancements should not solely benefit us; they should also be utilized to protect the creatures that depend on us.”
