Israel releases footage of Yahya Sinwar’s final moment
Israeli forces have confirmed the death of Yahya Sinwar, the chief of Hamas in Gaza. Drone footage released by the Israeli military shows Sinwar in his final moments, seated alone on a sofa in a destroyed apartment, covered in dust.
The video captures him throwing a stick at an approaching drone, while his right arm appears severely injured.
The operation began when Israeli infantry spotted suspected militants and opened fire, prompting a gunfight.
Sinwar fled to a damaged building, where he was tracked by drone surveillance.
Following his identification as a fighter, the Israeli military targeted the building, causing it to collapse and resulting in Sinwar’s death.
Israeli officials have described him as a key figure behind the deadly October 7 attacks on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and numerous hostages.
His identity was confirmed through dental records and DNA testing.
