Authorities announce Metro Bus schedule for SCO summit

The service will remain suspended from October 14 to 17

The Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be suspended from October 14 to 17 to facilitate the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting, district authorities announced.

The SCO meeting, taking place on October 15 and 16 in Islamabad, will host Prime Ministers and high-level representatives from various countries.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed the attendance of Prime Ministers from SCO member states including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, Iran’s First Vice President and India’s Foreign Minister will also participate.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from participating countries during the summit. Discussions will focus on key issues such as economy, trade, environment, and cultural and social ties.
