Robbers fire on bus near Shikarpur, one killed
A passenger coach traveling from Karachi to Kashmore was attacked by robbers on the Indus Highway near Shikarpur, resulting in one death and five injuries. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Naperkot police station.
According to police reports, the bandits attempted to rob the passengers. When the driver refused to stop, the robbers opened fire indiscriminately.
One passenger, identified as Ghulam Haider, died at the scene. Five others sustained serious injuries and were transported to Khanpur Hospital.
Following the shooting, the robbers escaped into the nearby countryside. Police, led by the SSP Shikarpur, have launched an operation in the area to apprehend the suspects.
The incident caused significant disruption as passengers staged a protest on the Indus Highway, blocking traffic flow for a period of time.
Protesters claimed that the bandits were actively robbing passengers before the shooting, and accused the police of inaction. Investigations are underway.
