Karachi to experience intense weather

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for Karachi residents as temperatures are expected to rise in the city.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz announced that starting that day, Karachi was likely to experience higher temperatures, with a maximum forecast of around 39 degrees Celsius.

The average temperature for October in the city typically stood at 35.6 degrees Celsius.

During this partial heat wave, Sarfraz indicated that maximum temperatures could increase by an average of 2 to 3 degrees. At that time, Karachi was under clear skies with intense sunshine.

The PMD predicted that the weather would remain hot and dry in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with the current temperature recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. Additionally, sea breezes were partially suspended, contributing to the heat, with humidity levels at 69 percent.

The Air Quality Index reported that Karachi’s air quality was unhealthy. The city ranked seventh among the world’s most polluted cities and second in Pakistan, with particulate matter levels reaching 153 micrograms per cubic meter.
