The government, Pakistan Peoples Party, and Jamaat-i-Islami have agreed to hold an all-parties conference on October 7 (Monday) to express solidarity with Gaza.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Friday, according to the state media.

Political leaders decided to observe a “Day of Solidarity with Palestine” throughout the country during the meeting.

Nationwide gatherings and seminars would be organised to demonstrate support for the Palestinian people and to protest against the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Attendants resolved to raise their voices against the oppression faced by individuals in Gaza and to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Bilawal expressed his full support for the Day of Solidarity, condemning the ongoing injustices against Muslims in Palestine and Gaza. They also recognised JI’s commitment to supporting Palestinians.

Israeli strikes have killed 41,802 Palestinians, according to Palestinian health authority.

Earlier in the day, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iran and its regional allies will not back down from Israel after an Israeli attack on Beirut that is thought to have targeted the heir apparent to Hezbollah’s slain leader.

“The resistance in the region will not back down even with the killing of its leaders,” Khamenei said in a rare appearance leading Friday prayers in Tehran, mentioning Nasrallah in his speech and calling its attack on Israel legal and legitimate.
