Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, has praised the Iranian armed forces for their recent missile strike near Tel Aviv, calling it a “completely legal and legitimate” action.

During his Friday sermon at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla mosque in Tehran, Khamenei celebrated the military’s “brilliant work” and reiterated Iran’s strong opposition to Israeli aggression.

This sermon followed a memorial for Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.

In an emotional tribute, Khamenei described Nasrallah as “my brother, my dear, and my pride,” characterizing him as a “shining jewel of Lebanon” and a significant figure for the Islamic community.

He acknowledged the profound loss of Nasrallah’s martyrdom but emphasized that it should serve as a source of strength and inspiration for the global Islamic community, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine.

Khamenei expressed confidence that Nasrallah’s legacy would continue to motivate those seeking justice and resistance in the region.

This was Khamenei’s first Friday sermon since January 2020, following Iran’s missile strikes on a U.S. base in Iraq in retaliation for the assassination of Brigadier Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
