PTI rally in Islamabad: A guide to which roads are open and closed

One side of the motorway has been closed

Due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Islamabad, several roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been closed.

Islamabad has been cordoned off at 29 locations. The New Margala Road, Zero Point, Faisal Chowk, and Bari Imam Cross have been closed. The Expressway, Marriott Hotel Chowk, NADRA Chowk, and Express Chowk have also been sealed.

Additionally, Secretariat Chowk, FATA House, Taramri Chowk, Shahpur, and Bani Gala Road have been closed. Faisalabad, Ninth Avenue, Golra Mor, Motorway Toll Plaza, and Tarnol Patak have also been sealed.

Furthermore, feeder routes and the Pink Bus service are suspended. The Islamabad Expressway on both sides and the route from Lehtrar Road to Khana Pul are closed.

The Srinagar Highway is open for traffic on both sides. It can be used to access and exit Islamabad Airport.

From Rawalpindi Railway Station, you can access the Srinagar Highway, Faqir Apey Road, IJP Road, and reach Peshawar Road. The entrance to Islamabad from Bhara Kahu is closed at 17-mile.

From Taxila, the GT Road is closed for traffic on both sides at the Singjani Point. The weekly Sunday Bazaar is open as usual.

Margala Road can be used to access the Red Zone. All other entry and exit points are closed.

The Motorways M1 and M2 are open for traffic. The route from the Srinagar Highway to the Motorway is open.

Additionally, the Islamabad-bound side of Motorway M2 has been closed. The Lahore-bound lane of Motorway M2 is open for traffic. Barriers have been erected at the Kallar Kahar, Bhulassar, and Neelay Dullah interchanges.

Heavy police contingents are deployed at the Motorway interchanges. The road closures have caused travel difficulties for passengers traveling to Islamabad.
