The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed the dental clinic of former president Dr. Arif Alvi, located in the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society.

Authorities cited the operation of a commercial business within a residential area as the reason for the closure.

According to an SBCA spokesperson, a routine inspection led by an assistant director resulted in the clinic being shut down, with staff members prohibited from continuing their work.

A notice was placed outside the facility, outlining the rule violations.

Fauzia Siddiqi, a spokesperson for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, labeled the SBCA’s actions as politically motivated, suggesting it was part of a vendetta by the government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistan Peoples Party in Sindh.

PTI Karachi president Raja Azhar criticized the timing of the SBCA’s action, claiming it was a deliberate attack on the party amid ongoing tensions with the ruling government.

The incident has sparked discussions regarding the politicization of regulatory bodies in Sindh, as PTI leaders maintain their commitment to their party’s ideals despite these challenges.
