Man accused of rape claims he was ‘trapped’ by girl
The Lahore High Court rejected the pre-arrest bail of a man accused of rape under false pretenses of marriage. The accused, identified as Riaz Hussain, subsequently fled after the court’s ruling.
During the hearing presided over by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal, Hussain claimed that the victim had “trapped” him and that no marriage had taken place.
The court remarked that he appeared to be a young man who had been “trapped.”
Despite the accused’s claims, the court dismissed his pre-arrest bail application. A case against Hussain has been registered at the Factory Area police station.
Following the court’s decision, Hussain absconded. Police are currently searching for him.
