Apple set to launch smart display in 2025 with new homeOS
Apple is reportedly gearing up to release a smart display in 2025, accompanied by a new operating system called homeOS.
According to a Bloomberg report, this device will be based on the existing tvOS used in Apple TV and will support essential Apple applications like Calendar, Notes, and Home.
The smart display is expected to have a prototype designed for wall mounting using magnets and may introduce features previously unavailable in the HomePod, such as Apple Intelligence.
While earlier speculations included concepts like a HomePod with a screen or a robotic arm for video calls, recent discussions suggest a more straightforward design, potentially resembling a square-shaped “HomeAccessory” with gesture controls.

References to homeOS have been found in code by MacRumors, indicating that this upcoming device may provide a more user-friendly experience compared to using an iPad as a smart home controller, which has faced usability challenges.
Although an official launch date has yet to be confirmed, the anticipated release appears to be on the horizon.
