Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has announced that the party’s planned September 28 rally in Rawalpindi will be replaced with a protest. Khan, speaking informally to journalists from Adiala Jail, stated that the administration and courts have denied permission for the rally.

He confirmed that the PTI is withdrawing its application to the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.

Khan emphatically ruled out any negotiations with the establishment, stating, “There’s no benefit in any kind of negotiations with the establishment.” He dismissed comments by PTI leader Raoof Hassan suggesting otherwise, saying Hassan had a misunderstanding. Khan reiterated his stance, made clear after the September 8th rally, that the party would not engage in any negotiations.

He accused the establishment of acting deceptively, stating, “They show you the right hand while striking with the left.”

Khan extended this directive to all party leadership, including Ali Amin Gandapur, instructing them against any negotiations with the establishment. He emphasized that the September 28th event in Rawalpindi would be a full-scale protest, not a rally. He added that PTI lawyers would also be staging a protest outside the Supreme Court.

Khan also addressed the issue of the Chief Justice appointment, stating that his mention of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was based solely on seniority and in accordance with the constitution’s mandate. He urged the government to issue the notification for the appointment within the remaining month.
