Punjab govt imposes Section 144 due to MDCAT exam
The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 for the Medical and Dental College admission test (MDCAT), following directives from the provincial government.
The Punjab Home Department issued a notification regarding this.
According to the Punjab Home Department spokesperson, section 144 will be enforced in 12 cities across Punjab on Sunday, September 22, during the entrance test.
Cities include Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Only candidates and supervisory staff will be allowed entry into the examination centers; no other individuals will be permitted.

The notification stated that there would be a ban on the movement of unrelated individuals within 100 yards of the examination centers.
Additionally, carrying of weapons, mobile phones, digital diaries, books, and guides would be prohibited in and around the exam centers.
The notification also specified that protests or demonstrations in the vicinity of the examination centers will not be allowed, and no individual will be permitted to disrupt the examination process or use unfair means.
