The Metro Bus service has been completely suspended in Islamabad due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for today in the Sangjani area.

The PTI has been granted permission to hold the rally in Sangjani this afternoon. Security in Rawalpindi and Islamabad is on high alert in anticipation of the event.

The Metro Bus administration announced that the service has been suspended between Rawalpindi Saddar Station and the Pakistan Secretariat. The service has also been completely shut down at Faizabad, the main thoroughfare in Rawalpindi.

In addition to the Metro Bus suspension, the Islamabad Expressway has been closed at various points due to the PTI rally.

Authorities have stated that alternate routes connecting the twin cities remain open.
