An anti-terrorism court has extended the interim bail of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in connection with five cases related to the May 9 riots.

The court granted his request for a one-day exemption from personal appearance and set the new bail date for October 5.

Previously, the court had prohibited police from arresting Chaudhry regarding these cases, which involve allegations of violence on May 9.

The judge instructed the police to present records of the cases against him at the next hearing.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, Chaudhry expressed hope for a positive outcome, noting that he had been incarcerated four times before.

He is currently facing multiple legal challenges, including corruption allegations.
