The federal government has approved special powers for security forces operating in Balochistan.
Sources reveal that the federal cabinet has amended the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997, enabling enhanced authority for the Pakistan Army, Civil Armed Forces, and government entities.
The cabinet’s approval was reportedly secured through a summary circulation process.
Security forces will have the authority to detain any individual suspected of terrorism.
