37 terrorists killed, 14 wounded in operations since August 20: ISPR

12 terrorists were killed in KP's Tirah Valley over the past two days

At least twelve terrorists belonging to banned Fitnal Khawarij, erstwhile TTP, were killed in an intelligence based operation in Khyber district’s Tirah Valley over the past two days, the military’s media wing said.

“Since 20 August 2024, security forces are conducting extensive intelligence based operations in Tirah Valley, Khyber district, on reported presence of Khwarij,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Friday.

“These operations have resulted into major setback to Fitna-Al- Khwarij & its affiliates, and so far, 37 terrorists have been sent to hell, while 14 terrorists have suffered serious injuries.”

The statement added that the IBOs would continue till peace in the area was restored and Khawarij were eliminated as the security forces “are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”

Five terrorists killed in various areas of Balochistan

Security forces have killed five terrorists in intelligence-based operations conducted in various areas of Balochistan, including Kech, Panjgur, and Turbat.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations conducted overnight also resulted in the injury of three terrorists. The ISPR stated that these successful operations were launched in response to the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Balochistan on August 26.

The recent wave of violence saw a series of attacks across Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of 50 people, including 14 security personnel. Security forces responded with counter-operations that resulted in the killing of 21 terrorists.

The attacks, which occurred between Friday and Saturday night, involved armed assailants targeting police and Levies stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Suntsar, resulting in numerous casualties.

There were also reports of explosions and hand grenade attacks in Sibi, Panjgur, Mastung, Turbat, Bela, and Quetta. Authorities confirmed that the attackers detonated explosives to destroy the railway track connecting Pakistan and Iran near the Mastung bypass area.
